As part of Ultramar's Diversity and Inclusion program, the first talk of the year was held, where our People and Sustainability Manager, Lorena López, interviewed the Director of Ultramar, Alejandra Mehech.
Commercial Engineer and graduate of the Master's Degree in Sociology from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Alejandra Mehech, current Director of Ultramar and other national companies, has more than 20 years of experience in Human Resources management. She is also a partner of RedMAD, a corporation that seeks to contribute to the value of organizations through the incorporation of female talent in senior management, and was chosen to kick off the cycle of conversations framed in Ultramar's Diversity and Inclusion program.
From her experience and life story, Alejandra offered us her perspective on female leadership and the evolution of this issue in society. She shared part of her personal and professional career, the road she had to travel to reach the place she occupies today and also spoke about her perception of the unconscious biases towards women and the gender gaps that still persist.
In a little more than an hour of conversation with our People and Sustainability Manager, Lorena López, and with more than 150 people connected via streaming in Chile and abroad, Alejandra also answered the questions of the attendees, who appreciated the opportunity to hear her vision, her life story, and even took the opportunity to ask for some advice on specific issues of female leadership.
This is the first talk of the year of this program, which seeks to promote conversations on issues of diversity and inclusion such as gender equity, multiculturalism, generational diversity and people with disabilities, all in line with the Sustainability Strategy that guides Ultramar's work.
